Paphos

11th January 2019 by Lynn

Paphos (often spelt Pafos, Pathos by mistake) is only 20 minutes from Paphos International Airport.

The Paphos area is famous for its diverse mix of a medieval castle, attractive “struttable” harbour, traditional and modern shops, indoor and outdoor markets, the old town and a sheer abundance of restaurants, bars and facilities for the whole family.

Of course, let’s not forget the beautiful clean beaches and welcoming clear sea!

Archaeologists report that the site of Paphos has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. It was a centre of the cult of Aphrodite and of pre-Hellenic fertility deities. Aphrodite’s legendary birthplace was on this island, where her temple was erected by the Myceneans in the twelfth century BC.

The remains of villas, palaces, theatres, fortresses and tombs of the Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods mean that the site is of exceptional architectural and historic value. The mosaics of Nea Paphos are among the most beautiful in the world.

Paphos, Coral Bay, St. Georges Bay and the villages along the way sit on or close to the majestic coastline.

Our villa homes are selected to enable you to get anywhere you want to visit, easily and happily: and to ensure you feel totally at home when you return to your chosen villa.

Paphos has been inhabited since the Neolithic period.
