words apart
I accidentally overheard a conversation in the bank yesterday between a customer and one of the banks agents. It did make me smile!
The customer was English and was being told that the bank had to take a ”’Floaty charge” on his business in order for him to have a business loan – and also that he’d have to go to the ”Land of Registry” to sign paperwork…….lovely use of terms, I thought!
The misuse of some words is just great: eg in Limassol, you get a ”Certifiget” for trying parasailing and in Paphos, “transspassants” (trepassers!), are prosecuted!
Today in Coral Bay, there is a restaurant, marketing their festive fayre with, ”fresh staffing” with every course! Poor waiters!
However you phrase it or whatever words you use, Peyia Cyprus is a place filled with joy, charm and warmth. Come and see for yourself. For villas with clean pools and apartments in great locations, email to enquiries@cyprusvillas.uk.com
