Wicked William – a very sad day
I’m so sad to share the news that our beloved, ”Wicked William” took his angel wings last night after a long, tiring illness. Having reached the magnificent age of something in the 90s, (no I couldn’t possibly tell you!), Bill was ready to journey on but his strength of body and spirit kept him with us for a little longer than he planned……
There are never enough words to honour a life: Bill’s life was not only a long one but one filled with love, loyalty, challenge, hard work and the type of sheer determination that few have these days. To be as loved AND as liked as he was, throughout his life, was a measure of the man.
I’m so very sad for all of us who loved him but I cannot help but smile thinking about him and his wonderful humour. He shared many holidays here with us in Peyia, loving the lifestyle, the swimming – and the many repairs he did in our home!
His was truly a life worth living and live it he did. The twinkle in his yes will stay in my heart as will the memories of the times we all shared – and I’ll cherish how much he loved ”out loud”, those who were precious to him.
William Jennings, you were a true gentleman and a lovely one at that! I suspect the creaky gates of Heaven have already been repaired and pray that you’ll now take the rest you deserve.
