VaVa’s Voom – a real Christmas story

We get our fuel from Kallikas Filling Station in Peyia, where Savvas and his wife run a great , efficient and friendly business covering fuel, heating oil, logs, shop, car cleaning, cafe – and an adjoining Reptile Park!

This couple are rare cypriots in that they love dogs. This past year has been a really sad one for them because their beloved old German Shepherd passed away, then Ernesto, the funny German Shepherd puppy who they brought home to love, was killed by a lunatic driver coming into the filling station at full speed and not stopping in time! Tragic.

The next dog was stolen from their home and their hearts were well and truly broken……till their son, Savvas and his wife (who’d only been married a year), brought little beautiful baby Savvas into the world in September 07! Smiles all round.

Today, they’ve introduced me to VaVa – the puppy they’ve bought for baby Savvas to grow up with and learn to play with and respect – and this little puppy is totally wonderful. He is loving and playful and very obedient – and named in honour of his little master!

It was good to see Mrs Savvas smiling today and playing with VaVa: he and Savvas have definitely put a light into her heart for Christmas!
