Valentines Day
February 14th and the village of Peyia is celebrating Valentines Day – well, not really!
Its amazing that, since the influx of expats, how many of the cypriot businesses have ‘adopted’ the UK ways eg tonight, local tavernas and restaurants will have valentine special meals; the florists offer romantic bouquets and the card shop is flourishing – and really, the cypriots couldn’t care less about it – every day to them is a Valentines Day!
Still, for those of us who love the village life, its an(other) excuse to celebrate just having another day in paradise – and counting our blessings knowing there are many who don’t have the same natural pleasures to enjoy.
