Things that go “bump” in the night……

One of the great guests in one of our villas in Peyia, was asking yesterday if we could turn the noise down on the aircon unit. Listening to it, I understood what she meant: these units are noisy exactly but they do make a “whooshing” noise as the fan works- and , as its not a noise we normally have in the UK, I could understand that she found it strange.

This island, like mheader=Things that go “bump” in the night……, One of the great guests in one of our villas in Peyia, was asking yesterday if we could turn the noise down on the aircon unit. Listening to it, I understood what she meant: these units are noisy exactly but they do make a “whooshing” noise as the fan works- and , as its not a noise we normally have in the UK, I could understand that she found it strange.

This islandings/ for fun; crickets (whose name is more like “enschilladas” – but Tony says thats food not a cricket – though I argue they are one and the same coz that sort of food is noisy!….)……..the sounds go on and on.

One unexpected sound hit our home a night ago: a sort of crunching/breaking falling sound. We woke, believing it to be an earthquake and discovered our bed had completely fallen apart and had landed at an angle amongst the wood splinters.

Now some 49 year old, soon to be 50 year old men would be quite pleased with this happening (!) but one, fast asleep when the breakage happened, just shouted loudly for the culprits: aka one very heavy boisterous puppy, Jake and his merry team of Alfie, Molly and Tiff.

Seems that Jakes love of morning cuddles, which he achieves by breaking the door open then leaping onto us in bed (yes, this is the almost 11 stone puppy), has finally made an undesired impact on us!

Don’t know what the bedding companies will make of us ALL going to try out a new bed: but we need to know if the next one will be strong enough!
