The Thinking Step

Just outside of the front door of our home, high on the hill in Peyia Village, are two steps, one of which is known to my family and friends as ‘The Thinking Step’. It is here, on this step, that many stories have been told; many tears cried and wiped; many giggles had – and many GnTs consumed!

The photo below is of the view from The Thinking Step: it shows the gentle sprawl of Peyia Village, the fields down towards Potima bay, Coral Bay and the start of Sea Caves – and the ragged edge of the coastline, which guards the sea.

I think The Thinking Step is special because of the view: its a quiet view; a comforting view and a HUGE view, which helps you get perspective and have a moment of ‘mindlessness’ in a busy world.

I love The Thinking Step and choose to sit there more than anywhere else in our pretty garden. Accompanied by our dogs, those loved and lost and the two monsters now, we sit for hours and just, well, think .

Today, my head is full of thoughts; my heart heavy with emotions both sad and happy. My soul is at peace though: The Thinking Step is a very healing place to be – and many of our villas have them too!

If you need ‘time out’ to think/cry/laugh/help the economy by drinking a little, email to me on and I’ll tell you tales of properties with Thinking Steps, ready and waiting for you!photo The Thinking Step
