Well, it’s been an interesting couple of weeks! The holiday villas and apartments are full to bursting; the sun is in the heavens and the swimming pools have been alive with squeals of the delight of children. August is vibrant!
Dragging this leg brace around, on mismatched crutches has been challenging – and very funny. There must be an easier way to operate these things! My heart goes out to anyone who is stuck with them permanently or has to use a wheelchair fulltime. Honestly , we don’t know we are born: so very grateful for legs, however chubby and unreliable they are!
Today, as the main rush of the holiday makers draws to an end and return to school is on the horizon, we’re also saying ”au revoir” to some of our family. Tonys daughter, her lovely partner and the three wonderful grandchildren, fly back to UK tonight. Our time together has been so precious but not without incident. Alfie, aged 8 and full of mischief, returns nursing stitches on his leg following a ”trampolining settee incident” which didn’t go according to plan! Gracie, 11, is sporting the most beautiful suntan and Tommy, 10, a new Leeds united strip – so all good.
I was just reflecting on quickly time goes by and how precious it is to make memories, when our table caught my eye , (photo below). There have been so very many stories shared around this table; so many hopes and dreams discussed – and a few harsh words which resulted in even more harsh tastes in the food! Still, the table will be set many , many more times and is more than capable of hosting whomever cares to pull up a seat.
Life, like a table, is empty without the menu of different people, perspectives and challenging ”dishes”. Not everything appeals but you”ve just got to prepare and hope to please.
The holiday villas are ready and waiting too. Fancy a late September sunshine supper? For deals and availability , email to firstname.lastname@example.org
