The place of dreams.

Its a gentle start to a hot July Saturday here in beautiful Peyia and Coral Bay. I’m working from home today – which means I’m emailing a bit, checking ins and outs to the holiday villas; I’m pottering a lot, talking to our furry family ; I’ve cleaned not much – but I’ve made a ‘ note to self’ to do more later! – and I’m daydreaming a whole lot too.

We’ve had some great emails today from holiday guests who are here with us but preparing to leave. Some are already booked for next year, others are battling with the senses to decide whether to come back to the place they’ve loved or try somewhere new. Thank god, all are happy. The villas and apartments, pools and gardens , have been just what they dreamed of and wanted – and I’m very grateful to our property owners and our extremely hard working team for ensuring we keep our quality standards high. (And I MUST give a special thank you to Emma, my ‘secret weapon’ , who is our customer services manager (and much more) and who goes above and beyond the call of duty, always. She is a star).

I’m dreaming of a holiday today – but am totally torn between wanting to ‘be away from the routine’ (which Tony wants) or just to have time out at home. Its a tough one. Of course, our phones ring, people pop in and we have to drive past our office and the properties we care for, on a daily basis – so we are never ‘away’. Thing is, I don’t want to be away. I’m very content and at peace here

I’m sitting at the table in our side garden (pictured below), just remembering  how many happy meals have been had here, some just the two of us, many with friends and family and a few, with villa holiday guests who’ve become friends. The ‘room’ is so peaceful, filled with energy and laughter – and currently covered in the leaves which are falling from the vines – but its gorgeous. I think I’ll just have a holiday here – today – so the housework can wait!
