The New Mrs Simpson

George and Rebecca married yesterday, here in Peyia, in the gardens of the Fountain of Women. It was a beautiful day, filled with sunshine and love – and Tony and I were so proud to be part of it.

I’ve worried so much about organising this wedding. Georges parents are our oldest friends – and I couldn’t bare the thought of letting them down. It was a huge relief when the ceremony was over and the celebrations began.

We were so pleased to have the wedding here in our village. Rebecca and her mum and sisters, got ready in our home so our celebrations lasted from the night before the wedding through the whole day. It was such an honour to be part of the whole occasion. The dogs were well behaved- and probably a little scared to have so many women and so much hairspray and perfume in one house! Charlie cat was good too and didn’t stand on the dress or veil once! Jake left the flowers alone and Alfie was a perfect gentleman, as he always is.

The two families, joined by friends, tearfully shared the ceremony and the reception afterwards- it was wonderful.

George is the most special man: he’s got such an open and loving spirit, Tony and I are proud to know him and will always have room in our home for him, his wife and their family. Jane and Bill, his parents must burst with love when they think of him. Rebecca is unique, beautiful inside and out – and they are made for each other.

Life can be a rollercoaster but this lovely couple will enjoy the journey together, as they should. We wish them and their families, all the love in the world and thank them with all of our hearts, for letting us be part of such a precious day.
