The Music of Cyprus – Rock FM!

I love radio! In my past life, radio was my absolute passion and took up every waking hour. I worked my way from the early 80s through to today, learning/exploring/perfecting/practising and sharing ‘The Art of Radio” and I’m grateful for every moment/ever person I worked with and those who inspired me to work harder.

Here in the Paphos region, we’ve a few radio stations to choose from but without question, the one with the heart/the finger on the pulse and the ears of the majority of the listeners, is Rock FM . Broadcasting from Limassol to Paphos to Polis, this wonderful radio station is unique in that its privately owned, multi cultural and has a dedicated team of people from all over the world, who care very much about what they are doing for the listeners.

One of the best things about Rock FM is Agapios, one of the owners of the station. Not content with having the main following of the people here, he’s constantly trying to be better and to perfect HIS art. This week, I’ve been honoured to be invited to help with a seminar on commercial radio, hosted at Rock FM and I was overwhelmed by the interest, positivity and commitment of the team there.

There’s a ‘new kid ‘ on the block in radio terms here but he doesn’t stand a chance because he’s lacking something Rock FM have in spades: A true Cypriot heart – and the mind to use it to keep on getting better!
