The magic of a holiday
Tony and I have just spent a week in the UK, visiting our collection of ‘wrinklies’ and catching up with some friends. It was a great trip, despite much driving, heavy rain, snow and constant grey skies! Travelling from Stansted to Northumberland, with various stopping off points on the way, I was reminded of many things – not least how beautiful England is in parts – and how much I miss the ‘sing song’ chorus of accents in areas like Sunderland and Newcastle. I marvelled at how much the Geordie ladies talk , even when shopping or walking – but Tony reminded me I am a Geordie lady and true to my heritage when it comes to talking!
Home to Peyia and our precious furry gang now, I’m also thinking how very lucky we are to live here. Its the 29th of November and I’m in shorts and Tshirt, sitting blogging on The Thinking Step in hot sunshine! I miss our family and friends very much: leaving our mums and my dad, was exceptionally emotional and not without many tears but I know they each have their lives to live as we have ours – and that they are happy for us, particularly when they can come and spend time here with us!
The key to the weeks break was that a change really is just as good as a rest. Different places, different routines, different tastes and textures, new streets and landmarks, all add up to food for the soul and warmth in the heart…..
To all of the people who’ve entrusted their rest and holiday to us till now, thank you so much. We are honoured to be able to help you and totally ‘get’ how important your time out is. To those who are thinking of a break and want to return to or consider coming to Cyprus, please look into coming here in one of our villas. We’re committed to doing our best for you, always – and won’t be going away from here again for a very long time!
