The Klaverdijk Wedding
Tony and I have been really happy to be included in the wedding celebrations of Diane Muilenberg and her (now ) husband, Paul Klaverdijk. The wedding took place on Monday, at Cap St George in St Georges : a perfect venue for a truly wonderful day.
Diane is the sister of Anne, a lovely friend of ours who worked in The Mill then , sadly, left us to go back to Rotterdam! Luckily, shés kept in touch – and introduced us to Diane and Paul – and also her gorgeous Mum and Dad – so we feel like we’ve now got a whole new family of friends!
We didn’t expect an invitation but were so very happy to be part of the day – well, actually the wedding celebrations continue during this week but a mix of work and not so great mobility, have put paid to us partying anymore than we did on Monday at the main celebration /service.
Weddings are always special. There was something very poignant and lovely about this one as Paul lost his parents a few years ago, so Diane”s parents are almost surrogate ones to him, in the truest sense. Watching the families really çome together, as Diane possibly one of the happiest brides in the world EVER, said, I do, was magical. Add to that a very special moment to pay tribute to Pauls parents, and the tears were flowing….
Life does many things, most unexpected but we pray for Diane and Paul that it brings them only good things: great health, great times with their families and a great appreciation of the real , treasured value of loving another. Congratulations!
