The heart of Cyprus
Tony and I were invited today, to view the pool and villa owned by Yiannis and his family, in Kissonerga. Situated near the army base but set in beautiful trees, in the privacy of established gardens and pretty areas, this lovely 5 ensuite family holiday villa was such a nice surprise: I’d long thought that finding privacy and seclusion here in a much loved, traditionally designed but cherished villa, was long gone. there are so many villas here now.
With a huge private pool, hot tub and panoramic views of the Potima bay/Coral Bay coastline, I honestly didn’t want to leave Coral Sunset villa today.
I think what made it more special, was meeting Constantinos and his father in law , Yiannis. These two men, particularly, Yiannis, embodied everything that represents true Cyprus and I loved listening to the stories of traditions and families/how they care for their guests and what each tree planted and brick laid, means to them.
Yiannis tells me he is only ‘skilled at shouting’ so was able to get his own way when the building work on the villa was slow. He also lamented the fact his (Cypriot of course!) wife, loved the sunshine and the sea – and now school holidays are upon us, he is worried his dinner won’t be ready when he returns from the field. He spoke of the crisis, of the real nature of Cypriots and his pride in his children……..it was a total pleasure to listen to him and to stop for a moment and just ‘be’ in the beauty of this island.
These two great people have given us license to rent out their villa, so if you’d like peace, space, tranquillity and stunning views , while being looked after by Yiannis and his family, email to me and I’ll give you more details. Enquiries@cyprusvillas.uk.com
Not sure if I’ve got a photo which can do this justice but I’m looking now and will attach below. Enjoy!
