Queen V

Vanessa made me laugh so much yesterday. We were in the park in Peyia, having a coffee and catch up as Jordi played on the swings. Vanessa was telling me that she’d been asked by the teachers at Jordis primary school, to do a small talk on England for the 52 under 7 year olds in the school.
Friday was the big day and Vanessa faced the eager little people and their teachers, giving a good presention about the country and the accents, with stories about the Royal Family and also a lesson in how to curtsy if you ever met the queen………….not content with this, she said she then got carried away and asked the little ones if they would like her to sing the National Anthem . When they said yes, she realised she’d forgotten the words so the version the children here have includes something about a man saving his tree……..

Unfortunately, as I was checking out the guests at the lovely villa Stavroulla today, I remembered the story and couldn’t contain my laughter. As the departing guests were Russian , I couldn’t really explain the reason for my laughter – and definitely didn’t want to croon Vanessas version of the anthem!
