No raindrops on roses but plenty of whiskers on kittens!
I cannot believe that the first week of September is now over! Where does the time go? We’re still enjoying a huge influx of happy holidaymakers, enjoying the wonderful sunshine in the villas in Coral Bay and Peyia. Today, its been great fun welcoming those from the UK, who’ve escaped the rain, many taking last minute breaks – and who cannot believe the heat in the sun here!
September is the start of my favourite time of year here in Cyprus: from now to end of May, it is pure bliss! The hot days continue through to end of December, then give way to more gentle heat and cool evenings. Long sleeves replace strappy Tshirts (well, on some of the men anyway: but thats a whole other story) – and I can put the quilt covers back on the beds in the villas from Sea Caves to Peyia.
With no expected until December, the area is dry but the plants are blossoming beautifully . September is colourful and lush – and the locals relax out of the intense heat into more welcome heat. We all feel more energetic and ready for anything!
The dogs and cats are relishing the slight change in temperature. Jake has been bathed down by the pool and has run himself ragged to get dry. Alfie is chilling out, breeze bathing by the balustrades and Molly is asleep on a sunbed. Tiff is surveying her world from the rooftop of the redundant luxury kennel in our back garden – and Charlie is playing out with 4 black kittens who are getting a little too close to this house for comfort.
Tonys comfort, that is: I’d have them here right now, given the chance!
In all, its a beautiful day here on this special island -fancy coming to join us?…..
