memory lane Coral Bay

We are having a wonderful time at the moment: two of our dearest, oldest (!!) friends are here with us , with their youngest daughter, Therese. Bill and Jane were our best man and lady when we married, spur of the moment on Christmas Eve, 20 years ago last year – and we haven’t seen them for years!

It has been so great welcoming them to “our world” here on the beautiful island of Cyprus and sharing a little of the life we lead. Jane remembers us first coming here over 24 years ago – and Therese remembers the four of us sharing too many glasses of something or other over the years.

Its interesting seeing our home village/ the area and life through the eyes of people who you love and trust: just maybe we do take things for granted now and again and its is lovely relooking at everything and appreciating again how lucky we are to be part of life here.

Today, we’re off to Coral Bay: I’ve a few checkouts to do from villas in Coral Bay so I think that Therese will probably want to come with me and see how things are. Bill and Jane can potter around some of the great cafes in Peyia village itself – or maybe come into Coral Bay and visit the Cypriot souvenir shops; or maybe pick up a diamond or two! Cyprus does some of the most beautiful jewelry in the world: I know; I’m lucky enough to wear some!!

Tony bought me a gorgeous eternity ring for our twentieth anniversary: only because I told him 20 years was diamond, (senior moment: I know I’ve told you that already!): thing maybe he doesn’t realise is that I don’t need diamonds: I’ve got more riches in the true friends we’ve got that we could ever put a price on.

That said, I do like the way the eternity ring sparkles in the sunlight!…..

Here’s to a good Monday, wherever you are reading this.
