Make a note………
Its been a lovely week: I’ve had some time out to spend with Mary, Eve and Lauren and have been able to look again at the lovely village in which we live and thank god for being here.
Mary really loved the area – which was SO great for us: her constant praise of the people; our “locals” , (beach bar Yialos, Spillies Cave Bar, Fat Mamas and La Vigne in Coral Bay); the stunning coastline and totally beautiful sunsets, have really brought home to me how lucky Tony and I are to live here – and what a great joy it is to welcome guests to villas here in Coral Bay and Peyia.
Please don’t get me wrong: I never stop marvelling at the beauty of the village of Peyia, the hills surrounding us and the coastline of Coral Bay but sometimes you just get too wrapped up in day to day stuff to really look at places – and its good to stop now and again, taking stock of the world around you.
Of greater importance to Tony and I was how much Mary, Lauren and Eve just shared their sheer joy of life and family with us: the girls taught us to sing and dance – and Mary and I have talked about everything from lippy to health; cocktails to clouds; clothes to bodies and cooking to champagne…..
Eve, aged 5, learned to swim without her arm bands and Lauren was totally supportive to her little sister in Eves quest to “conquer” the waves in the pool, from deep end to shallow end.
At the airport today, there have been tears (mine and Marys) and cuddles (all ) – and a little handwritten note each for Tony and I from Eve, telling us she’ll miss us…………..aaaahhhhh. Lauren had a tear in her eyes too but was very much looking forward to getting home to see Daddy!
As I write, they are in the air heading home but I know they’ll read this so I just want to say, “Thank you – with all my heart – for being in our lives and sharing this very precious week with us: COME BACK SOON!”
