I’ve just had the most wonderful surprise: Gemma, the beautiful lady who works in Philippos in Peyia and has done for many, many years, has just come to our home with her new baby Jasmine, to see how I am after my op!

Driven here by Islam, the manager of the Peyia store and his lovely wife, they tell me they’ve been worried about me and wanted to call to see for themselves that I’m doing fine!

I could cry buckets! God bless them! They work every hour godsends, are always smiling and make going into Philippos Supermarket, an absolute treat. With little time off and now a brand new baby to care for, that they’ve taken time out to come and see me, has warmed my heart.

Life is definitely a people thing – and people like these make living here in Peyia, even more precious. I pray life returns to them all the love, friendship and good health they deserve – and also that they’ll let me babysit for Jasmine as soon as I’m fit: she is GORGEOUS!
