Holiday at home

Tony and I are enjoying a rare couple of days off , at home with our great friends, Els and Andy who’ve come over from Yorkshire for a week in the sunshine

I take this place for granted sometimes: its such a good place to be. We’ve walked/pottered/eaten and drank , walked somemore and just taken in the joys of the area. From Paphos harbour, where we were inspired by the local crafts/paintings and ‘stuff’ in the Emplo, to the old market, where we’ve been regaled with stories about ancient greek and had a mini lesson in wood carving, its been a wonderful couple of days.

The biggest decision is where to go next: can we pull ourselves away from the view from our hill or tear ourselves away from Yialos Taverna? Should we go back to Phidias and hear more about how much he loves Susie Floozey or stick with Michaels tavern in Peyia. Its tough!!

Last night, we partied the night away in The Mill quiz, arriving just in time to see Great Raymondodoulou, The Grandad, win the quiz WITHOUT Tony – so questions were asked ! Tonight, the gang have gone ‘early doors’ while I potter at home and cherish the memories we’ve made.

I’d forgotten how nice holidays are – or maybe its just how nice it is to holiday at home in a wonderful village with my furry family close by!
Bliss!
