Hark the herald angels ………….ALMOST sang!

Peyia village puts on lots of Christmas presentations and activity, among which are carol services. These are diaried in advance and dates mailed to all local residents with an invitation to us to come and listen – which we do.

The first one was Wednesday evening: a huge crowd gathered in the Square eagerly awaiting a good old sing song. Only the band didn’t turn up and the “best singers” were held up in Paphos – so the event only sort of happened!

This morning, at 11am, we all gathered again to listen to local school children and their renditions of favourite caroles – but the teacher wasn’t too well and the sun wasn’t shining so we had a carol then a mass exodus to another place…..

Ah well, the dogs and I have enjoyed the Christmas CDs which have been blasting their way through the ether today as we’ve worked and played, so there has been a touch of the festive spirit.

Tomorrow, there’s another Carol Service in Peyia – perhaps!
