Happy Birthday Tony!
Its the first of August and, like every year, I get a “new reg” man today! Today, Tony celebrates his birthday but we’re doing today in style, surrounded by a few very close friends, including Susie Floozie and The Great Raymondodoulou plus Bill and Jane and the wedding party. We are really looking forward to sharing lunch with them at Yialos, our favourite taverna in Coral Bay.
I struggle every year to buy Tony something he would like – and I refuse to pay for younger, naughty ladies (though I’ve invited Fern, aged 2 to the lunch!). Seriously, Tony is a hard man to buy for but his present will be winging its way here from Nicosia, I hope, by the end of the week (if the annual Cypriot holiday doesn’t get in the way, that is!).
Tony believes birthdays are just another day, which technically they are but they are still a day to stop and take stock of life and the universe. As he’s a deep, complex man, I really don’t know what he’ll think about today but I pray he is happy and content and can count his blessings. I know he’ll be particularly thrilled to have Bill and Jane here in Cyprus to share today with him.
Life flies by: George and Rebecca are married, we’re all getting older, holidays in villas here in Coral Bay and Peyia just seem to flash by in the blink of an eye…….today, I want Tony to feel loved and cherished and be happy with his lot. He’ll certainly be fussed over by the families of both the bride and groom, which is lovely for him, but I want his spirit to sing so his day is all it could be………
Here’s to a new month, new beginnings and the continuance of happy ever afters!
Nip and a punch for the first of the month, no backs!!
