Family, time and birthdays

The 16th of September is very special to me as its my beautiful sister Maxines, birthday. Max is 3 years younger than me and is the family beauty. She’s gorgeous in every way – and a very glamorous granny to LilyMay too!

Tomorrow, 17th, would be our Nannas birthday but she’s sadly not here to celebrate with us. With my birthay on Sunday, we three ladies would have an annual “ball” enjoying too much cake, shared parties and happy times. I remember , when very young, longing for Max and Nannas birthdays to pass but wanting them to have a lovely time – but I was so excited about my birthday, I selfishly wished the days away.
Now, I’d be happy to stick with the 16th and extend Maxs day forever! Time has gone too quickly, as it does and the years clock on……

This time of year brings back so many precious memories of happy family times and makes me realise that, however dysfunctional and disparate my crazy family are, they are MY crazy family and I’m so proud to be one of them.

Happy Birthday Maxine: am sure Nanna is smiling on us both – and also dancing a jig with Aunty Katy to celebrate our mutual birthday weekend!
