Everythings coming up roses……
Tony and I were in Coral Bay this morning, viewing some newly built villas which we are taking on to rent from Spring 08. We pottered around building sites and marvelled at the lovely views of the sea (which was very angry today) and the hillsides. From there we went to Hearns Bookshop in Coral Bay , to collect the book Tony bought for me for Christmas – which has just arrived (well, its Cyprus)…..
Crossing the small patch of weeds next to the path which leads to the bookshop, I spotted one tiny little rosebud peeping through the weeds and stopped to steal it – but Tony stopped me, telling me it was happy where it was. I love roses so wasn’t chuffed about this but my argument about giving it a better home with us etc, didn’t get me anywhere!
We shopped a bit then drove home – to find a vase of gorgeous homegrown roses sitting on the steps leading to our home, with a card addressed to me! I was thrilled! My friend, Ina, owner of the best gift shop in the Peyia area , (and talented painter to boot), had brought me the roses from her garden coz she knows I’m under the weather and in need of a “floral cuddle”…
Wasn’t that lovely?
Poor little Coral Bay lonely rosebud could have had a full family to “move into” if Tony had let me pick her! Possibly wasn’t meant to be!
Have a fragrant evening!
