Dexter’s Day: Humans!

Okay, I don’t get it!

I’m a friendly sort of fella:

I take my parents for a walk on their leads

And we meet people on the way.

I stop to sniff them and say hello –

And some of them pull away from me!

Or shout at my parents!

I mean, what’s that about?

My parents aren’t THAT bad, are they?

They both wash, (I sniff them regularly)

And they chat, (well, Mummy does)

And they are happy –

But people are VERY strange!

I meet my friends on the walk and we sniff and chat.

They feel the same way as me!

We exchange, “Oh, people” looks

Then sniff each others butt.

It’s all very civilised and pleasant –

but the people don’t get it.

I’m happy being a  doggy

And I LOVE my swim each day.

But people? Well, be friendly!

Stick your tongues out and waggle your bums.

Life is WAY too short to be grumpy!
