Can we have our money back?!

Cannot believe it but we woke up today to SNOW! Falling heavily over Peyia and Coral Bay! In fact, we couldn’t see Coral Bay from our villa – and the snow was lying!

This freak weather has lasted all day and is still with us now (its 8.30pm tonight).

In the cafe in Peyia , the locals were saying its the coldest day for 20 years – and no-one could believe the snow. We watched the cars coming down the into Peyia from Kathikas: with snow on their bonnets! Tourists were wrapped up agains the elements – in layers of the holiday clothing they’d brought! Even in Philippos, one local (English) lady offered to buy my coat off me, she was so cold! (Yes, another coat wearing day! Whippee!!).

In all, its been a very interesting weather day: fascinating to see snow here in the village and very amusing to watch the reactions TO the snow by the locals.

We don’t think it will stay long. Tomorrow the temperature goes up a few degrees and by the weekend, we’re in for sunny days again……

Still, its been a great chance to light the fires, wrap up warm and remember that we had to do this EVERY day back in the UK from around Oct to end April.

Snow? In Peyia? Never! Well, not until today that is!
