Blowing a Gasket!

Its my own fault! I was driving my little car yesterday, doing arrivals and departures and generally chatting away to the car as we drove from villa in Coral Bay to villas in Peyia and back again…..its a great little car: blue, soft top, old sporty looking thing (no, I”m greying, middle age and the one wearing the shades!)…….anyway, many of our lovely holidaymakers were admiring the car as we went about and I “happened” to mention header=Blowing a Gasket!, Its my own fault! I was driving my little car yesterday, doing arrivals and departures and generally chatting away to the car as we drove from villa in Coral Bay to villas in Peyia and back again…..its a great little car: blue, soft top, old sporty looking thing (no, I”m greying, middle age and the coming up the hill in Peyia to our home and it , quite literally, blew a gasket!

Not just any old gasket but one connected to the engine, which connected to the fuel , which began to gush out of wherever it was sleeping and soak the engine, road etc – and it smelt awful!

The one kindness Noddy (the car) , showed to me was not to do this in the village centre, where a smoking ban would be ridiculed by the locals and where, sadly, a few of the passing Cypriots throw lit fag ends into the road………..so at least I know Noddy has SOME feelings for my safety but is totally unconcerned by the fact that , today, I’ve tons of villa holidaymakers arriving and have work to do!

I’m torn between being amused by Noddys actions and wanting to kick his tyres in! The latter would be daft , coz I’ve just realised that two of them are bald and he doesn’t have the “comb over” option to hide the baldness….

Koullis, husband of our gorgeous friend Jac and owner of Coral Bay Buses,( the company who do our taxi transfers), came to the rescue. He’s taken the part away and promised to return within a few days to repair Noddy, who is sulking now in his parking space, so Tony is cleaning him as a special treat.

I’ll just have to borrow Tonys truck, which isn’t as much fun as Noddy but has the good grace to keep its fuel in its pipes!
