A taste of Sri Lankan food – in Latchi Cyprus!

Faros Taverna on Latchi Marina in Cyprus, is one of our favourite places to relax and people watch. The boats gently sway on harbour waters ; people meander along, stopping to stroke the many harbour cats who live there year round. In the distance, are views of the Black Mountains in the north on the island and close by, the area is filled with colourful harbour cafes, comfy sofas and friendly people

Only 15 mins drive from Peyia, over the hills and past the tiny traditional villages of Kathikas , Arodes, Droushia and Pittikopos, even the journey to this tavern is part of a very lovely experience.

Yesterday, we were joined by 7 friends, all from Peyia, who came with us to sample the new Sri Lankan chefs ‘own style’ cooking at Faros Taverna – and it was superb! From the spicy prawns in light vegetable ‘sauce’, to the eggplant and aubergine starter, crumbling lamb curry followed by light devils chicken, the food was some of the tastiest we’ve ever had!

Wonderful afternoon, spent with special people enjoying some of the best of Cyprus hospitality and food cooked by a talented chef! Couldn’t ask for anything more- though the banana split I scoffed, was good too!
