A Little Life Music….
One of the things which makes Cyprus stand out from other countries to me, is that, when I wake up, the early morning noises are different: the bird song is different, the russle through the Carob Trees sounds different to other trees – and the goat bells, gently tinkling around the necks of the local herds who play on the hillsides, is lovely. Then the HUGE ring of the village bells joins inissed my nose and wants me to wake up and talk to her; Alfies happy little grunts as he comes in to say hello and Jakes, well, Jakes love of “cleaning” various parts of his anatomy – and its morning!
Charlie cat shouts from the top of the wall behind our bedroom, refusing to jump down and walk into the house coz he prefers one of us (normally Tony) to lift him down and carry him upstairs for a family cuddle……….its all very noisy!
I don’t get away with it either: mornings are the time I love to chatter, especially about the dream I’ve had – which makes Tony groan even louder, clatter around the kitchen to sound busy so I won’t follow him, talking 20 to the dozen….
Still, its all part of the morning symphony and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world – though it would be great to get the male elements of our family to conduct their noises in less of a bellow and more of a gentle “ping”!
And soon our house guests begin to arrive, bringing their own personal melodies to add to the cacophany of sound which is life here……….. Think I’ll make overtures to Tony to get a peaceful holiday of my own soon!
