A dog of a morning…..
Our beautiful Alfie dog has been quite poorly for 4 months now and its got worse and worse: in fact, its gotten to the point that he has lost most of his hair, smells terribly – and even the vet was worried!
We’ve just had the results of his Senior Profiling Tests – and I’m sooooooooooooooo happy to let you know he needs some treatment but its not life threatening nor will be have to lose this beautiful animal through this illness, in the foreseeable future. I am crying as I email, with relief and thanks. He is The Best of Dogs and I just couldn’t imagine him not being around. Jake adores him, Molly worships him and Charlie cleans his ears – which is probably The Biggest Accolade an honorary dog can give to another dog!
I know that the time always comes to have to say goodbye. Our current gang are those of “never again” – we’ve done the loss and pain thing too many times to count – but the love from these animals is always worth it……
I also know that some people are living with and caring for animals who aren’t so lucky as Alfie and whose illnesses are very serious – and my heart goes out to them today.
We are counting our blessings today and sending our thoughts to anyone with a sick animal in their family ……………….
