A Cyprus Saturday

Tony and I have had a busy day. Thanks to Susie Floozy and The Great Raymondodoulou looking after our animals, we’ve been able to go over to Pyrgos, just outside of Limassol where we met a lovely English lady and Tony organised to put in a new pool liner for her
Pyrgos is a very pretty village, set on the hillside overlooking the motorway. Today, the hill was decked with mimosa and looked very ethereal. I love the flowers and shrubs here but was very surprised to find, in the garden of the lady we visited, frescia, growing everywhere and looking like golden sunshine on a cool and grey day.
This kind lady even gave me a bunch to bring home and I’m looking at them now, as they sit ‘smiling’ on the mantelpiece in our lounge – beautiful!
We went from there to the seafront, where we grabbed lunch at the Blue Berry cafe and watched the windsurfers fighting the waves, then we walked a few km to marvel at the HUGE Russian owned homes which are springing up.
A quick walk around the old market near Limassol port and we’re home via two of our holiday villas in Coral bay, Villa Garlands and Villa Killian.

I have to say , Cyprus is beautiful and an island of extremes but home is Peyia and the hillside looked very welcoming as we drove up through the clouds! Probably had a lot to do with knowing Alfie, Molly and Charlie cat were waiting for us!
